You can use Rick to generate fast summaries for almost anything.
TLDR anything
Use /tldr https://...
to TLDR an article or website. NEW: There is no need to use /vid command for YouTube videos, just use /tldr for all your “TLDR” needs.
There are multiple ways to use this command:
[!discord] On Discord you can use
.s <url>
for articles & Twitter threads (the latter is only available on Discord). You can also use.sd
which will give you a detailed summary.
/tldr https://article.com
/tldr
in reply to any message with a link- The first link will be grabbed and TLDR’d.
tldr
in reply to any long message without a link- You can use this to summarize any long-form message right inside your chat.
The TLDR command supports: web articles/pages, forum topics, Medium, Substack & more.
Twitter reports
On Discord, Twitter threads are supported as well as user timeline reports with .ts userHandle
- this gets you a TLDR of the recent posts from this user.
YouTube summaries
Use /vid https://...
to TLDR a YouTube video, in Discord you can use Use .vid <url>
if you’re using Rick in Discord.
Telegram: The
/tldr
command supports YouTube videos directly now,/vid
still works.
