TLDR anything

You can use Rick to generate fast summaries for almost anything.

TLDR anything

Use /tldr https://... to TLDR an article or website. NEW: There is no need to use /vid command for YouTube videos, just use /tldr for all your “TLDR” needs.

There are multiple ways to use this command:

[!discord] On Discord :discord: you can use .s <url> for articles & Twitter threads (the latter is only available on Discord). You can also use .sd which will give you a detailed summary.

  • /tldr https://article.com
  • /tldr in reply to any message with a link
    • The first link will be grabbed and TLDR’d.
  • tldr in reply to any long message without a link
    • You can use this to summarize any long-form message right inside your chat.

The TLDR command supports: web articles/pages, forum topics, Medium, Substack & more.

Twitter reports

On :discord: Discord, Twitter threads are supported as well as user timeline reports with .ts userHandle - this gets you a TLDR of the recent posts from this user.

YouTube summaries

Use /vid https://... to TLDR a YouTube video, in Discord you can use Use .vid <url> if you’re using Rick in Discord.

:telegram: Telegram: The /tldr command supports YouTube videos directly now, /vid still works.
