**Juno Network** is a decentralized, permissionless Layer 1 blockchain built using the Cosmos SDK. It was launched to serve as a smart contract platform within the Cosmos ecosystem, enabling developers to deploy interoperable smart contracts using CosmWasm, a smart contract engine written in Rust.

# Wallet and funding

- Create [Keplr](https://wallet.keplr.app/#/dashboard) wallet, install the [browser extension](https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/keplr/dmkamcknogkgcdfhhbddcghachkejeap).
- Withdraw $ATOM from [Binance](https://accounts.binance.com/en/register?ref=VEURIJ5P) through Cosmos chain.
- Go to [JunoSwap](https://www.junoswap.com/transfer) and deposit ATOM.
- You can get some $JUNO for gas by [depositing](https://app.osmosis.zone/assets) some #ATOM on Osmosis and [swap](https://app.osmosis.zone/) it for JUNO, then [withdraw](https://app.osmosis.zone/assets) it back.

> Make sure to leave some ATOM in Kepplr wallet for gas.

Go to [Faucet](https://stakely.io/faucet/juno) and get some JUNO to do your first swap.
